Presidential Salute! Meanwhile, behind the scenes at the museum vibration detectors monitor safety of collections as they do for on-site music concerts. I think they have a ‘no stampede’ rule also. Emotional support wildebeest excepted.
Today Collins Barracks will host the 21 gun salute for Catherine Connolly's Presidential Inauguration.
The Inauguration Ceremony takes place in Dublin Castle but due to the city centre location, the gun salute needs to be further afield but within hearing distance.

It’s great to live in a country where your president gets an informal public guard of honor of Bernese Mountain dogs and their owners as he travels out of the official residence for his last day in office. #SpeirGorm he is so popular he appears in children’s books and even as a tea cosy
President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina are preparing to leave Áras an Uachtaráin for the final time this evening as his term comes to an end.

Catherine Connolly will be inaugurated tomorrow as Ireland’s next president.

Honeybees go fast and break things. Perhaps we should be more like a bumblebee, taking time to be considerate and accurate. Daily wisdom from the insect world via Ireland’s Bee Sanctuary, well worth a follow. #Mindfulness #Bees

Bumblebee v Honeybee

When searching for a specific ‘target’ #bumblebees are slower but more accurate than #honeybees which are faster/more impulsive and make more errors. Bumblebees sacrifice speed for accuracy.

The last time this happened was about 12,000 years ago and Ireland became uninhabitable. This is the reality of the climate crisis
New research finds a 70% chance the AMOC collapses under current emissions…37% under moderate cuts, 25% even under low ones.
That collapse would upend rainfall, chill Europe, wreck crops, and raise seas.
We blame fossil fuel billionaires because mirrors are awkward.
