In Australia, the Australian Labor Party, is now, functionally, a politically Right-wing marketing organisation using Left-wing nostalgia to vacuum votes and money.

Like Tony Blair & David Cameron (somewhat more understandably), Australia's Paul Keating was a policy child of Margaret Thatcher.

For anyone from a science background, watching Ads for disinfectants claiming to kill 99.9% of germs = knowing the remaining 0.1% are going to grow into a real problem.

So it is with ICE in its current thuggish form.

Sarah Kendzior provided a photo of the interior of her home. The view is down a flight of wooden stairs which has carpet laid centrally down the flight. A handrail runs down the viewer's left. The conclusion of the stairs makes a T-junction with a hallway lit admirably, in this photo, by a stained glass window directly opposite the stairs. Sarah writes, "My dog spends her day sleeping on the sunniest stair and moving up one every few hours in order to achieve maximum sunshine." On the bottom tread, laying across all of the carpet with her head to the right, is a Dachshund, head up, ears out (but not up), showing a passing interest in something happening downstairs but out of shot.

It's not a matter of schadenfreude. There is no empathy or sympathy from me. It's a grim curiosity:
