Editorial with F. Michard in BJA. Many clinicians (and researchers) have a "Deus Ex Machina" perception of the result of AI algorithms. However, the result of AI training is highly dependant on those that train and flawed physiological concepts are simply regurgitated by AI.

If ICU consistently used simple pulsecontour estimation of SV, the would see that SV did not rise with vasopressors and suspect cardiac failure as the cause very early, triaging efficiently for prompt ECCO evaluation.... pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31153629/

I am really happy with this conceptual study - pure vasoconstriction can improve cardiac output if you increase stressed volume and the heart is preload dependent. We induced preload dependency by HUT and vasoconstricted with phenylephrine.
