Just rambling about variety of sports, films & tv + whatever else comes to mind
44. As someone who studied gcse history this was right up my street. It’s 2.5 hrs long & it flew by, I was gripped throughout. Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon are terrific. Leo Woodall’s performance was incredibly moving.

43. The most Yorgos Lanthimos film. It’s delightfully deranged. Emma Stone is one of the finest actors of her generation & shout out Jesse Plemons who is once again phenomenal. An absolute blast.

42. A biopic that takes a different direction to your usual. It’s very moving in parts. This focuses on Bruce Springsteen struggling with past trauma & issues that arise as a result. Jeremy Allen White is excellent & is well supported by Jeremy Strong & Stephen Graham.

41. Based on the crazy true story of Jeffrey Manchester. Channing Tatum more like charming Tatum. He is brilliant & is supported by an excellent ensemble cast. It’s funny, thrilling & equally heartwarming & heartbreaking. One of my favourites I’ve seen this year.

40. Hmm. Didn’t hate it but certainly didn’t love it. Some weird contrived plot points that didn’t feel necessary. Given sensitive subject matter it will divide opinion. Weakest out of the Luca films that I seen. Performances are largely gd by those involved at least.

39. It was fine, some bits work some don’t. Seth Rogen & Aziz Ansari basically play themselves. Keanu Reeves really is the highlight & has some brilliant lines.

38. I have no interest in MMA but I like a biopic. Dwayne Johnson playing someone with depth is nice to see & he is great in this. The story itself though is fairly unremarkable.

37. A beautiful film based on the true story of John Davidson, who is diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at a time when little is known about it. It is incredibly moving, at times very funny & ultimately incredibly uplifting. Robert Aramayo & Maxine Peake are terrific.

36. Trailer had me intrigued. Unfortunately despite its ambition with some nice ideas & nice scenes it just doesn’t work. The writing ain’t great & there is a severe lack of chemistry between the pair + their characters not that likeable so I didn’t care for em much.

35. Holy fucking cinema. Yea this is the film of the year. It is dramatic, it is unhinged & hilarious. Di Caprio great Sean Penn go get that Oscar & they supported by a brilliant ensemble cast. It’s 2hr 45 but it feels like 90 mins. Oh & the phrase “semen demon” is said.

34. A film about something awful that happens to a person & how they deal with it. At times funny, at others haunting & heartbreaking. Eva Victor is great.

33. Best film I seen this year, wow. A film about brotherhood. I was invested throughout, feel like I went through nearly every emotion possible & by the end was left numb. The performances are outstanding particularly Cooper Hoffman & David Jonsson. Go watch this!

32. Stay single/divorce propaganda.

Olivia Colman & Benedict Cumberbatch the comedic duo i didn’t know I needed. Two insufferable married people get gradually more & more insane.

31. A funny, violent, chaotic & thrilling film from Darren Aronofsky. Austin Butler with one of his best performances, this man is a movie star & has been on a tear lately. I also think I have a man crush on him. Oh shoutout the cat for being an excellent companion too.

30. Well that was a fucking wild ride. I’m not even really sure what it about but that don’t even matter I was never bored, eery dread combined with comedy. Some incredible performances & loved the different character povs. Some seriously good horror films recently.

29. Hard to eloquently sum this film up in a tweet. A beautiful & moving film about life & all that it encompasses. While not everything worked for me, the performances are great & there are some scenes that are truly spectacular & will stay with me for a long time.

28. Fun, silly & chance to switch off your brain for 80 mins or so, chuckled many times & some ppl full on belly laughed. Your kind of humour will determine the degree you enjoy it.

27. Wow! Not huge on horror but this up there for my favourite film I seen this year. Unsettling, unhinged & moving. Excruciating depiction of grief’s power to turn ppl into monsters. Such incredible performances particularly by Sally Hawkins with some insane gaslighting.

26. Whisper it quietly but superhero movies on the up again? That’s three gd ones in a row with thunderbolts, superman & now this. Loved the retro vibe, great casting, humorous & highlights importance of family. That mid credit scene 🤤. A great fantastic 4 film at last.

25. Nice film from Celine Song on material value vs Love, trust & understanding & the effects of what love & relationships can have on a person’s sense of identity. Good performances & nice to see Chris Evans in something gd & with substance which been lacking post marvel.

24. Have no real interest in DC universe but enjoyed this. Three strong performances from David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan & Nicholas Hoult with Hoult stealing the show, special shout-out to Krypto the dog. Far from perfect but it is funny & uplifting & I had a gd time .

23. The definition of a popcorn movie, this has to be enjoyed on the big screen. I have no interest in the sport but had good fun with this. Brad Pitt really is a movie star, Damson Idris & Kerry Condon great too. Sensational soundtrack.

22. Intense, moving, weird with well hung zombies, Boyle & Garland had fun. Different to previous films but loved it. Alfie Williams great as is Jodie Comer & Ralph Fiennes has a blast. Ending is perhaps most bizarre thing I ever seen, but immediately knew who that was.

21. Had a fun time watching a beautiful woman kill people in a variety of ways for a couple of hours. Ana De Armas is great but do think it probably not quite at the level of the John Wick films.
