Buffalo Press Box Episode 95: No trade zone
Should the Buffalo Bills have been more aggressive at the trade deadline? Young players injected life into the secondary, Michael Hoecht's impact and Dalton Kincaid's playing time. Plus, the Sabres ar...

It wouldn't be surprising if Curtis Samuel has played his last game with the #Bills. And suddenly they have gone from having too many slot receivers to one.

The #Bills have seen worse than 7-4 and pulled out of it. Can they do it again? It will have to start without both offensive tackles.

Ryan Van Demark will likely be the #Bills' starting left tackle Sunday. Sean McDermott said Tylan Grable will be questionable. Starting at right tackle in his first game this season is a tough ask. Wouldn't rule out Alec Anderson starting there.

#Bills coach Sean McDermott said on WGR550 that LB Terrel Bernard (elbow), OT Spencer Brown (shoulder), OT Dion Dawkins (concussion) and WR Curtis Samuel (neck/ribs) are out. TE Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) and WR Joshua Palmer (ankle) will be limited today.

The #Bills are on pace to surrender more sacks this season than the previous two combined. What's gone into their sudden inconsistency in pass protection and how can they bounce back against a tough Steelers front.

Did the #Bills and Joe Brady have a come-to-Jesus momentum after Houston? Swapping Brandin Cooks for Elijah Moore indicates a shift in passing philosophy on the surface. But it was against the grain for Brady.

The #Bills rank third in average separation rate, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. Buffalo and Arizona top-10 passing team in the top-five. Seven of the 10-best passing offenses rank in the bottom-10.

The #Bills have released WR Elijah Moore.

One is a result of the other.
I’m beginning to suspect it’s a scheme and Josh/OC problem. This feels like insurance more than anything
November 26, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Regarding Brandin Cooks: I don't know how much he can impact the #Bills offense coming in (at 32) 11 games into the season. But perhaps Houston was a break-glass moment for the passing game that necessitated change. It would be a weird signing if it wasn't.
November 26, 2025 at 3:24 PM
This isn't that abnormal for good teams. Take a gander at Parcells, Belichick, Reid and their reunions. But what hurts McDermott is lack of trust in the culture he's built. He's got to learn to trust his players to police guys who have questions but can help the team and believe they'll conform.
How many times the Bills have re-signed the same guys

Jordan Phillips-4x
Shaq Lawson- 3x
Jordan Poyer- 2x
Micah Hyde- 2x
Josh Norman-2x
John Brown- 2x
Vaxx Beasley- 2x
AJ Klein-3x
Gabe Davis-2x

Am I missing anyone?
November 25, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Two things can be true: The #Bills practice squad discourse is weird. Especially at this time of the year when there's not much on the market. And signing Shaq Lawson is a bit ... weird.
November 25, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Free agent Brandin Cooks has a skill set that would help the #Bills. Their offensive structure over the last 2.5 years doesn't seem to be interested in that skill set.

The #Bills are giving up 96.5 yards rushing on 5.8 yards per carry in the first half and 52.4 on 4.6 in the second half. The #Buffalo defense is finding solutions far too late to be consistently good.

Joe Brady? Josh Allen? Offensive line? A nasty Texans defense? Everyone shares a role in the offensive mess the #Bills churned out Thursday. A look into why Allen was sacked a career-high eight times.

Tale of the tape: Plenty of blame to go around for Bills' offensive debacle against the Texans
The offensive coordinator. The quarterback. The wide receivers. The offensive line.

The Texans controlled the first half offensively. It completely changed the way the game was played.
No XP resulted in not being able to go to overtime and so losing the game. The defense held them to 6 points from to really bad turnovers. Giving up one drive seems small against this. And the defense got the ball back after the 4th and 1 debacle.

They changed strength and conditioning coaches last year.
It seems like Babich is in over his head and Brady has run out of ideas. Change is needed; I’d like to see us bring in a couple of experienced coordinators with some fresh ideas. It may be a good idea to review our strength and conditioning practices as well.
November 21, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Blame Allen. He wasn't good. It wasn't all his fault. But he owns some of those sacks.
Vanilla is generous but I actually don’t blame Josh as much here.

They ran a ton of extra lineman formations last year to buy him time and I saw almost none of that this game. Against those edge rushers!!

It's still cracked. Recall what happened in 2023. But it's grim.
Yeah window is firmly shut at this point.
November 21, 2025 at 5:40 AM
More concerning than the Texans battering Josh Allen like no defense ever has was that the #Bills didn't seem to have any answers. And now winning the AFC East seems like a pipe dream.

How about the vanilla defense at the end of the half? Or the least amount of pressure generated on a Texans quarterback this year?
Bobby didn't miss the XP and he also didn't throw 2 Ints. And the list of people why the Bills lost are Matt and Josh far ahead of any coach.
