Meteorologist in Alaska. Probably napping.
Overcast here at Juneau, so most likely no bueno for the aurora this go around. BUT Im so excited and happy for all the people seeing it for the first time so far south, it's an incredible thing to witness it dance across the skies first hand.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

First thought for AAR: I may be in the minority here, but even as someone who uses noaa.gov sites daily...the tsunami.gov page is not the most user-friendly experience to navigate and get actionable info.

Trump's decision to revive the McKinley name for Denali, North American's tallest mountain, is "a slap in the face of recent efforts to acknowledge America's history of colonialism and restore Indigenous place names," Cassidy Randall writes in a guest essay.
Opinion | Denali Will Always Be Denali
At least a dozen other mountains and ridges in the U.S. already carry the name McKinley.

I will mourn the day that our knowledge, research, and passion in the Weather Service is ever disposed of in favor of that used for the gain of a business or individual. I kept my job today, but I will miss everyone else who was motivated by the greater good of all people.
