I always pictured myself as Robin Hood, but actually I'm one of these old owls, and that's a comforting realization.

People: "How are you doing?"

Me, sitting in my car biting directly into half of a grocery store cake at 2pm on a Thursday: "Hangin' in there!"

After two months of physical therapy, I have finally overcome my rolling over in bed injury 💪

This was the meme. I hope the author is doing okay.

I just came across this comment I wrote on Facebook on March 24, 2020, in response to an Ed, Edd and Eddy meme about returning to the status quo after COVID-19.

I used to love 'I-told-ya-so's

I don't like how protest signs have become a contest for the wittiest. Most of them end up trying to be funny just end up reading as painfully unaware.

But this, I love. The greasy pizza box, the stink lines, the painting of the poop with anus-like lips... *chef's kiss*

Thinking of one of my favorites from @existentialcomics.com today

Thank you, anarchists, for your contributions toward a better society in the here and now!

Nervous system reset chain:

I'm going to put my hands on my heart and take deep breaths, then root my feet on the ground & envision good energy going to the earth.

You do the same - root your feet and breathe the energy up. When you feel grounded, send it back to the earth for the next person.

Haven't posted a palate cleanser in awhile, even though I wanted it to be a daily gratitude practice. Oops!

Here's a branch from my almond tree that I pruned too late in the winter and then brought inside to flower. 🌱🌸

Today I'm grateful for seedlings!

These tiny babies are just 2 days old. Look at em go!

I set up a seedling heat mat and a grow light in my laundry room and am excitedly starting seeds. I don't quite know where I'll put these guys between this stage & going outside. A problem for later Nic.

Deep breath checkpoint!

The rapid barrage of bad news is an attack on our nervous systems. Let's do some 4-7-8 breaths to keep from being frozen.

Breathe in for a count of 4
..
Hold for a count of 7
..
Slowly breathe out for a count of 8

Phew, I'm going to need a few of those. 😅

How lucky I am to have a warm place to be in this freezing cold, to have layers of socks to put on my aching feet, to have muffins and tea for breakfast and dogs full of kibble, to have a safe place to go to the bathroom, to be able to take a breath and watch a cloud float by..

#gratitude

Nervous system regulation check point!

Take three slow, deep breaths

Check in with your belly. Do you need a snack? Water? A bathroom break?

Check in with your back. Do you need a stretch? Relax your shoulders.

Check in with your eyes. Close them and take three more breaths.

❤️

Deep breath checkpoint!

Let's be kind to our nervous systems that are taking in so much right now.

Take a deep breath, concentrating on expanding the bottom of your ribcage all the way around..
...
Hold it..
...
And slowly exhale

Who's good with constellations?
I love how many stars I can see at home. I feel super lucky to live somewhere dark enough to see them.

The first flowers of the year are inching towards coming out. Today I heard a robin chirping through the yard.

Nature hasn't given up #hope, so I can't either.
