I could have sworn there was something I was supposed to do today.
Good movie, but not remotely a neo-noir. I was lied to by Letterboxd.

Er, maybe not so much "slick" as "viscerally upsetting," in this case.

My Noirvember list for this year. It's more than 30, because what's more noir than being greedy and setting yourself up for failure?

There actually is a specific combination of caffeine intake, food, and sleep/naps that defeats the Long COVID brainfog. It does exist. There is a right answer.

Problem is, it changes daily.

I gotta start asking myself some real hard questions about what specifically in my browsing history is leading to me receiving ads like this.

Well, at least they only stole three out of five. Even the AI bandits want nothing to do with Love and Other Lives Worth Telling, and presumably Crimes & Clockworks is either too recent to bother with.

I'm enjoying Baldur's Gate 3, but I don't know that I've ever played a game whose reality fell so far of its hype before.

I came into this expecting an all-time great TRPG, and what I got was a game that's good enough to keep playing but otherwise riddled with bugs, filler, janky UI, and slop.

The Noir Atlas
Film noir is often thought of as a distinctly American genre, but the truth of the matter is that it's as universal as anything else; people can be alienated, tempted, and rained on anywhere. This lis...

Something I'm wrestling with is that the best-case (plausible) version I can think of the next four years is one that's catastrophically painful for people who don't deserve it, but every version I can think of that feels plausible is only slightly less painful in the short term and much longer.

I just keep hoping that there's some implausible 11th hour reversal, and it's a particular cruel hope because I already know there isn't but the part of me that believed in the things that needed to be true which have already been proven false is reluctant to die.

#CarChase 🔥 Le Casse 🏁 The Burglars 1971 "Opel Rekord A vs Fiat 124 sT" (J.P. Belmondo & O. Sharif)
"Le Casse" (or in the USA "The Burglars" and parts of Europe "Le Coup") is a crime-thriller about a couple of thieves who want to heist a gemstone from a collector home living in Athens. A movie, which was written and directed by Henri Verneuil (1971) Apart from Athens, the producers also shot in other Greek islands, including Piraeus and Corfu - and this car chase was shot in Piraeus. Car-Stunts -- Remy Julienne and his team #carchase #jeanpaulbelmondo #omarsharif #lecasse #theburglars #opel #fiat124 It's a remastered upload (2011) from my first (2007) -- in better quality, a bit longer and english subtitles enjoy Mike :) @MikeAndMechanics @MikeAndMechanics
