Look what you can do with with Celestia, zoom out to the galactic scale and see the relative positions of the Milky Way, the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds, and Andromeda. So cool! Research for my novel :-)

Pretty cool animation done by the free software Celestia. This script has you travel to a randomly chosen star in its database.

Really gives you a vast sense of scale when you consider the database seems to be based on hipparcos data, and a relatively small bubble around our solar neighborhood.

Only the best salt in the Shire for my sourdough!

Actually, I got a bunch of salts from a specialty shop in Rome during our trip in September. And, if I were being honest, the loaves made with these good salts taste the same as those made with table salt.
