Riddled with the same small errors and missteps of any of my creative endeavors, but I’m still pretty proud of my first real attempt at furniture. This is a small coffee bar that will go against a wall in my office.

I took a break from work and worrying about the world to build something, and it felt great. I’m going to go ahead and make a habit out of this.

The pressure cooker has made my journey from no soup to soup so much shorter. It is the high-speed rail of cooking implements, and in the cold months I am a frequent passenger.

Working from home means being able to make a real breakfast, and if there's leftover rice that breakfast is definitely going to be eggs over kimchi fried rice.

I had trouble sleeping last night and deeply missed my canine insomnia cure, so Bluesky gets a rare selfie this morning. Beorn was the best boy during the toughest hours. So grateful for the time we had with him even if it was too short.

I lost my late night writing partner last week, and it has been difficult to work. The words just seem to fall into the well of his absence. RIP Beorn. You were the best boy.

I needed a map to help plot my first book attempt, and since then I've found the exercise useful for almost everything I've written. I'll even sketch out rooms sometimes to help block a scene. Despite my abysmal abilities as a draftsman I find this part of the process incredibly relaxing. #writing

@mariedarling.bsky.social drew some cover art for my WIP, and I had it permanently installed on my arm. As I struggle through this edit it's a visual reminder that I actually need to finish this damn novel. Otherwise, this tattoo is going to have a depressing story. #writing #amwritingfantasy
