Lowkey a fan of Leigh Whannell, but this felt like a miss. Some gnarly body horror and believable performances, only to be let down by sluggish pacing and underdeveloped characters, making it hard to care about anything beyond the slick, yet dimly lit, photography. Disappointing!

NOSFERATU is Robert Eggers’ weakest film to date yet made with such meticulous craftsmanship that I still had a good time. Whenever it lacks the emotional depth or complexity, NOSFERATU makes up for with its grotesque style, gorgeous production design and strong performances. Haunting final shot!

STILL WAKES THE DEEP is a frustrating mixed bag. As much as I love its bleak, Lovecraftian atmosphere, detailed environments and inherent Scottishness, it collapses under the weight of uninspired gameplay mechanics and its strictly linear structure. A bit too short to justify the current price, imo!
