Almost like allowing private equity to take over the children's home market was a terrible idea.

Someone should have written about that in a book....

Some thoughts about using #bluesky for newbies ...

* fill out your bio
* post (even into the void)
* check out feeds
* block don't feed trolls
* like and repost as you pass through

There isn't the same algorithm here so we make the weather. 😊

My first blog that anyone read.

All about Servant Leadership and how we need to create a climate to help our teachers be great. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Thanks @aidansevers.bsky.social for encouraging me to write 8 years ago. You gave me a voice. smithsmm.wordpress.com/2016/10/08/b...
Be More Alfred! (Let Batman be Batman)
A couple of weeks ago I read a fab blogpost by @thatboycanteach, he was encouraging teachers to be more Batman. Whilst I wholeheartedly agreed with the concept, one flaw struck me: For Batman to be Ba...

Grades 1-3 are not fails. Us or Xs are. Anyone with a 1-3 HAS GOT A GCSE. And for some of those kiddos, a 1 or a 2 or 3 can be a phenomenal result that they deserve to be proud of. Let’s be a bit more responsible in our language.

🧵🧵A thread of tips on effective modelling 🧵🧵
1. Chunk the model into parts, performing the I do-We do-You do for one chunk before going back to the I do-We do-You do for chunk 2. This prevents cognitive overload from having to remember a large amount of steps/content in their working memories.
