Sharing this in case it brings you some comfort. A rookie just left this year's race because she saw something concerning. Vets have already seen her dogs, and they are healthy. I believe most mushers would make this decision in favor of their dogs.

Don't forget the Marriott Marquis next door! All four - the Marriott and the Atlanta, Embarcadero, and O'Hare Hyatt Regencies were all designed by John Portman. Dude knew how to make an impression.

The funny thing is I'm pretty sure I saved this image to laugh about my mom and the raccoons she feeds in her backyard. (This photo was taken five minutes ago.)

Also she does not actually touch them cause I yelled at her about rabies when she first started feeding them years ago.
