As much as I've dogged on this movie for how it looked, I think it's reasonable to believe that Disney is deliberately burying their original animated movie output in favor of promoting their sequels and live-action remakes.
Elio is certainly one of Pixar's best films in years, but a lackluster marketing campaign makes it seem like Disney didn't have faith in it.
