1 FEARS and SKEPTICISM It's good to be skeptical as we evaluate information.But we should guard against our general fears being exploited, sending us down rabbit holes of conspiratorial thinking. 02 INFLUENCERS Health information shared by charismatic or famous people can be especially appealing. But that level of fame can also make us vulnerable to falling for bogus claims or products. 03 COMMUNITY We gravitate to those who think like we do. This can provide a sense of belonging, but it can also lead to echo chambers. When we see the same false information repeatedly, we come to believe that it's true. 04 STORIES Personal stories about health are compelling. But anecdotal evidence is not always reliable. When we connect with stories on an emotional level, that emotion can override our logic.
