I'm skeptical of these crosstabs. Dems winning more in the Midwest than the northeast?

My guess is that trends continue unless there's some unpredictable event (war/terrorism/Dems do something mad) This could be good or bad for Trump, it really depends.

Yeah for sure, voters have memories worse than those of a goldfish. Anything can happen.

Math papers go on the arxiv by default. Mathematicians also always sort coauthors alphabetically, we don't bother with first and second authors.

I mean, if you have a utility function and you want to maximise it, you'd try taking a derivative and setting it equal to 0. Calculus is quite effective!

But honestly learning linear algebra properly and at a really deep level is probably the best math prep there is. Especially if you're able to pick up the general vector space concepts.

Math competitions can be a helpful preparation for this kind of thing and are also quite fun. You learn how to do proofs and you learn at least some level of abstraction. You also learn clever tricks and proof techniques that end up being useful when you're learning group theory.

It's so obviously true it's funny
October 2, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Honestly we should learn lessons from them. It's a good tactic!

Honestly super impressed, you gotta share your diet/exercise routine for the rest of us to learn from!

But you say for one second that maybe the mass murder of innocent civilians in Gaza is unacceptable and oh my, you're an antisemite.

Is it weird or is it just Minnesota?
June 20, 2025 at 10:04 PM
That's still a thing?
May 26, 2025 at 12:22 PM
Because European as far as Eurovision goes is really about shared culture not about geography. It's a pretty broad culture, but it's definitely cultural and not geographical.
May 15, 2025 at 10:05 PM
This is fair, but isn't it also driven more by race than by religion?
May 9, 2025 at 5:10 AM
Also, religion isn't really that big a factor compared to the US and European Christians are actually more leftwing than European fascists.

Mostly because Europe has small countries which are used to the welfare state but not to migrants. So they have some constraints on their economic moves.
