YES, brother, just the other day I was describing the Superman movie as kinda evoking the Bronze Age comic vibes, the way Raimi had the Silver Age down.

Maybe an 8.5 outta 10?
But personally the way it hit?
10 ON 10.

Also, AGAIN:

I NEED A “MR TERRIFIC” MOVIE OR TV SHOW.

The kind of flick that invokes the awe in our kids the way my eyes were wide for the original two Christopher Reeve films.
Theres a line in the movie about “Punk Rock”…
And yeah.
Superman is Punk Rock RAD. 🤘
If i had to score the movie?

Yeah.
I think, maybe we’ve inadvertently been trained to expect comic book movies to be a certain way especially with the UTTER DOMINANCE of the Marvel movies…
But I selfishly want THIS to be the way moving forward.
Earnest.
Fun.

And the movie is just plain old classic: FUN.
It evokes the bronze age of comic books for me.
Superman is just a LEGITIMAT GOOD person.
The most HUMAN I’ve ever seen the character depicted on the big screen.
And…

And, on top of me tearing up because I’m seeing the best Superman since Reeve realized, the Dams burst because of the dynamic with Clark’s Parents.
If you’ve seen The GotG films? You KNOW how director James Gunn hits you in the feels when it comes to parents and their kids.

The tone and dialogue are great.
It’s EARNEST. Like the original Raimi Spiderman movie. Sure “cheesy” can get thrown about, but it’s what’s Appropriate and NEEDED for a Superman movie.

Like a FASCINATING conversation you’ve stumbled into… you may be confused, but it’s so damn engaging, and the characters are so charming, you STAY, and basically get the context enough where you find yourself participating because you’re invested and welcomed in.

I’ve seen some reviewers use the term “messy” on some of the movie’s aspects.
But it’s, I feel, PURPOSEFULLY, showing us a chaotic week in the life of Superman.
The world of the movie feels like it’s always existed, you’re just seeing it for the first time.
