To me, it just seems as if Toki underestimated how much danger she was putting herself in when she hid the disinfectant. She thought her husband was overreacting and wanted him to loosen up for once. She wanted them to express their love with no restraints, and that's what killed her

Now, here's where I start saying why I disagree with the take of her being suicidal. She very much loves Gosha and is happy to be with him despite this. And Gosha feels relaxed with Toki. Like he can be himself more around her

Even though the reason for why this flashback sequence happened was stupid, I do like it in a vacuum. Because damn was this sad. It really shines a lot of light onto what Gosha's life with his Toki was like. And how her death affected him in the long run
