No one should need to say this but if you're an elected official and you're too afraid to speak out against the illegal actions of the current administration then you cannot effectively represent your constituents.

This is 100% accurate and still doesn't take into account the time investment. Canning & preserving your own food is very labor intensive and may not be accessible to people working a full-time job and caring for a family (let alone those who work more than one job or rely on a side gig for income).
The true cost of canning supplies should be shared often. I own all my own canning supplies and this is an investment. Please be truthful with your following. Deceit and flaunting expensive solutions is not helpful for someone on public assistance, eating from food banks, and making $15 per hour.
