Yes! The higher the risk, the greater the reduction with steroids, exactly to be expected with regression to the mean. Gill Lancet 1985 showed the higher the initial BP, the greater the reduction with treatment, whatever you give! It's just a numerical phenomenon, with no greater meaning than that.

Annual EPIQ conference in Montréal. Many great presentations improving quality of care in the NICU. New family engagement group: focusing on skin-to-skin care for their 1st projects. We have a long way to go. Telephone survey of Canadian NICUs, most babies in the units didn't get cuddled that day.

World Prematurity Day: when I was junior resident (SHO) in an NICU, 1981, we saved our 1st 26 wker. Survival now 90%. 2005 my daughter was born at 24 wk; here day 1 & 19 years later, on her way to becoming a nurse. What a privilege to have spent 44 years in this field
