It's a testament to the widespread incompetence of the Trump administration that the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, is preoccupied with what passengers wear on planes rather than how many air traffic controllers there are to keep them safe, even if not in bespoke suits.

I genuinely wonder if anyone on the NYT editorial team looks at the Mamdani coverage in total and thinks "yeah, we got this one right"
The story on the eve of the election is basically reporters asking the public "is Mamdani experienced enough?"

No actual news.

We can all laugh at this (and yes it's ridiculous) but I much prefer this use of AI to improve people's lives (eventually) rather than trying to put them out of work.
The loading-the-dishwasher struggle is real. Even—or especially—for the $20,000 1X Neo humanoid home robot.

Let’s talk about ICE. This post is long, but it’s worth reading to understand how to protect your right to privacy.

It might sound extreme, but everyday Americans may soon want to consider face coverings for reasons far beyond health or fashion.

I suspect that if Clay Higgins discovered that a family receiving SNAP benefits had a months' worth of food stockpiled in their home, Clay Higgins would be outraged that a family with tons of food is receiving SNAP benefits.

Yes, typically asbestos filled structures are demolished in a few days with no mitigation measures and dumped by a golf course under a mesothelioma cloud.
WELKER: Why didn't the president tell the public he was going to tear down the entire East Wing, which as you know is part of the people's house?

BESSENT: Well, I think this was a judgment call on the president. The president is a master builder. It could've been asbestos. It could've been mold.

For an administration that came out of the box threatening Canadian independence, Greenland’s sovereignty, the Panama Canal, etc., it sure has a glass jaw. 🤡
WELKER: Why is the president setting trade policy based on a TV ad he doesn't like?

BESSENT: This is a kind of propaganda against US citizens. It's psyops

This screams “Everything is about to get worse, and more expensive.” Notice how he says food prices are bad, but what they’re going to do is going to help “the ranchers.” What that likely means is, some weird bailout for BigAg which will do nothing for prices and will be terrible economic policy.
Hassett: "One of the places where we've seen things that weren't moving in the direction we would like in the past is food prices. And we've had a really really big series of meetings where sometime soon, there's gonna be a really big agricultural policy that's gonna help our ranchers."
