In these chaotic times, it may be difficult to find moments of joy. Here, I’m always searching. Today, joy at these green sprouts that bring hope for some blossoms later. Where have you found joy today?

Starting off the new year with all the “good luck” foods. Black-eyed peas with ham, collard greens, fresh cornbread, and pickled beets. Yes, we are fans! Hmm, could have been a little pat of butter on top of that hot cornbread. Customary New Year’s Day meal for us. The best of new year wishes to you

On this Thursday of this season of thankfulness, I am thankful 4 a career n public education & 4 continued involvement in our local retired teachers organization. In addition to the delicious meal pictured, ten $1,500 scholarships were presented to students entering education at today’s meeting.

The word for my focus on this Wednesday is “appreciation.” I appreciate those of you who are following along as we navigate this unsettling time. I appreciate being able to begin the day with a fresh cup of coffee in a favorite Susan Branch design mug. It’s the small things that make a difference.

Finishing up this Monday with a couple of “good things!” Clean water for Asheville, NC, of course was the first one. The second one came from a young neighbor, steaming hot soup fresh from the crockpot, sharing with us! Gratitude for these unexpected good things! Wishes for a good night ahead!

A comforting bowl of homemade turkey wild rice soup with a cup of cinnamon apple tea. Friends, this is about as deep as my content gets. No products to sell, no great philosophical discussions. Just dealing with a bit of disappointment that’s the same with many of you. Let’s recapture the joy!
