I'd kind of just accepted it wasn't going to happen and was content with what we had but I'm so glad I was wrong. Nearly every week has just been the new song on repeat

I was planning to reread Might of Monsters soon anyways because I adore Olesya (and I already reread Spy and her Serpent earlier this year) but this has turned it into a full series reread.

Since the ones that are most at risk of being lost are the one the downloader misses

It's a really useful tool to get most things but at least when I used it last Wednesday on my full library it missed anything that itch had entirely removed the page of (ex. Dee Dee Calculus and In Her Garden) and didn't report that it missed it. Anyone using it may want to spot check ones like that

Did you miss your harming trannies quota last week or are you just really excited for the opportunity?

Overall, this feels like one of those books I'm going to come back to every year just to enjoy having the journey again. And since the prologue for the next book is out, I can jump into the next one already with high hopes considering the prologue of Sundered Moon
the prologue of Shattered Star is now available publicly. please enjoy reading about Gilgamesh, lesbian king of kings and Enkidu, the android assassin.

The other point I specifically wanted to praise because I didn't talk too much about them in the initial post (except the one in the prologue, which I had to) was how good every sex scene was. Dia and Gráinne were excellent, but then Eva showed up and everything went to another level.

challenging him to fight her champion while worrying over if he might win, to his return lasting all of five lines and a glance over the shoulder to see him being swiftly dispatched because by that point he, and by extension the future Gráinne was railing against, have been thoroughly defeated

I didn't mention him much aside from cheering Dia on, but how Bres is handled in each encounter was interesting to look back on as a barometer of Gráinne's growth. From apparently struggling to beat him in their own duel, through admonishing Dia for her initial confrontation with him and later

The main trio, the mothers, Layla/Quinn, and Brigid all felt like they had. I mainly noticed it because going into the epilogue, Sif seemed like the odd one out for this, but then the epilogue solved that too.

I'll probably do more of a final thoughts thread tomorrow but that epilogue gave me so much of what I wanted (specifically with Sif and the moms)

If I'm being honest there was very little chance I was ever coming down on the other side for her. I was trying to give it a chance, but that scene's pretty safely locked her in

Look, I know she's responsible for the deaths of probably millions, doesn't appear to value life, and is going to/is/has cause(-ing/-ed) so many problems for all of my other favourite characters, but I'm just saying...

Trying not to post too much of the climactic chapters, but if there were a prequel thing (or even just more in general) about the Vipers of Eden at some point I would absolutely jump on that (even more than the prologue for the second book, which I'm also going to get to soon)
April 12, 2025 at 11:21 AM
Are we going to end up with a second trio? (Please?)
April 12, 2025 at 11:05 AM
They're both perfect, I love them (and Dia) so much
April 12, 2025 at 10:54 AM
We are! And we're already getting "my lion" to go along with it :)
April 12, 2025 at 10:43 AM
And she's teasing Gráinne too! Are we going to end up with the three of them together?
April 12, 2025 at 10:27 AM
A late contender, but I think Eva might become my favourite of the main pilots. And "I'm sure she knows how good of a puppy you can be" is a wild line
April 12, 2025 at 10:23 AM
The reassurance between the two that Gráinne is 100% in by her own choosing is sweet and Dia's so precious for worrying and checking in, even if Gráinne's very clear on her commitment

Okay, that was a *concerning* train ride, although "like a dog it is" is an excellent end to it.
