Not doing a live thread because I read it last night but I was cackling at the ending. I love this series so much, I'm going to be thinking about the *implications* for a while
New from me and @devi.bsky.social! A tragic lesbian romance between a sorceress and her sworn knight, fleeing their legacy in an alt-historical setting circa 19c. You only need to have read Grace of Sorcerers for this one.

Truly amazing to get an email from my new doctor at 10:30 pm on a Sunday telling me my estrogen levels came back a little high (i.e. a little above WPATH lol) and to book an appointment to discuss reducing my dosage

A day late on the overall thoughts, but Sundered Moon remains bouncing around my head and likely will for some time. The point I keep coming back to is feeling like even though I want more generally, no major character felt like they were left without gaining something by the end.
Okay, work done for the day and a freezer pizza in the oven as a treat, time for a book I've been meaning to read for a while, and with the sequel's prologue recently released, that's enough of a kick to start Sundered Moon by @faerynnistired.itch.io

I really should stop reading new Dorley chapters during downtime at work, I'm never ready for the gutpunch Alyson's work is able to deliver. Last time, it was the Finger Bones preview, and this time it's a pair of Tabitha scenes. I'm pretty sure my first read of Everything Must Go was at work too

Just saying, it's a really good time to pick up my favourite debut that I read last year if you haven't already. There's a 4 chapter preview on her website and if itch is your go to for drm-free ebooks, it's available there now too. I just picked up a copy there to go along with my paperback copy.
So, if you could have a look at my book, and see if my lesbian vampirate out for revenge falling in love with a trans woman princess is something you're interested in, I'd appreciate it. (>^.^)> ❤️

I'm so happy to discover this isn't a just me thing. The first snowfall after I started estrogen, I was walking into town and I had to sit on a bench and just appreciate it because it was the first time I actually saw beauty in nature instead of just knowing I was supposed to see it
Before significant visible physical changes really started happening I went on a walk in early spring, noted the colours of the leaves as if seeing them for the first time. I started happy crying.
A lot of transfemmes talk about the physical changes on HRT, myself included. But for me the real goldmines were the internal changes. The inner sky opening up is truly breathtaking.

Finally getting over the 'haven't done it in a while' hurdle to get back into making book threads with @trishusband.itch.io 's The Pink Diamond, which I've wanted to read since it was first announced.

Some final thoughts on The Revenge of Captain Vessia by Leslie Allen ( @cozywitch.bsky.social ) now that I've had a day. Overall, a wonderful mix of pirate and vampire which, as someone not really familiar with either, makes me want to find more queer stories of each (or both at the same time).
Time to dig into the newest addition to my bookshelf, The Revenge of Captain Vessia by Leslie Allen ( @cozywitch.bsky.social ). I don't remember where I first saw mention of it, but when I happened to see it available to be shipped to a local bookstore, I jumped at the chance.

Once saw someone be like, 'I want male characters in sapphic books to be helpful and nice, or amicable exes' and I'm like, I want them to be neither seen nor heard personally.

Some final thoughts on The Hades Calculus now that I've had a day. In short, it maintains the incredibly high quality that their previous novels have had, but delivers a higher quantity. I'll keep things vague for both, but a few mentions of the Chainverse novels for comparison will be present too.
The most I've got energy for today is reading, so time for the one I've put off until I could give it a full day.

The Hades Calculus by Maria Ying ( @benjanun.bsky.social and @devi.bsky.social ) is one I ordered a physical copy of on release having finished their previous series only a month before

Trans awareness week, but it's just me having to inform the bank teller that it is legally my name (for the time being) on the card after she, very politely, informed me that I had to use a card with *my* name on it and not *his* name :)

Tonight's book is the third of the three currently released in @riengray.bsky.social 's Out of True series, Seure the Tempered. This is the highest expectations I've had for an entry in the series so far, both the description and content warning suggest this is a very *me* book

Had to skip out last night because I regrettably got busy with other things that needed doing, but tonight I've got plenty of time for Martis the Brazen, the second of @riengray.bsky.social 's Arthurian inspired novellas.

After a couple nights of work being busy, tonight/this morning's book is Valerin the Fair by Rien Gray ( @riengray.bsky.social ).

There may be mild spoilers but I'll be trying to keep them to a minimum.

Buy trans books. Preferably, buy them in hardcopy so they can't be remote deleted.
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?
