Team and I are gutted, the next day three people are reassigned and the rest of the team is laid off. I swore to myself I'd get into Business Development and never let that happen to a good team again. So I did and I haven't.

Demo day turns into full portfolio review and all teams are cranking to show progress. My presentation is ready, showing milestone details and to-go work and budget remaining. I'm 10 mins into my preso and head of BD says - didn't you get my email? License was too expensive. Can't build the product.
