It sits loosely on Neil, though not uncomfortably, but it’s obviously not his, and very possibly Kevin’s, and there’s something about that that Aaron finds irritating. Neil vigorously gestures at the box in front of him, meaning he’s occupied, then flaps his hand towards Aaron, meaning go away. Aaron rolls his eyes and goes. “Don’t be too long,” Neil calls after him. “You know I get bored without you.” Aaron does take too long, so Neil can't be held responsible for what happens next, can he?

“Cat,” Jeremy says, but he barely hears his own voice. The man is looking at the camera, one eye closed as Peppa licks high near his temple. She looks comfortable in his arms and he looks slightly disgruntled, like he hadn’t expected her to do that. His open eye is bright and stormy, a gray-blue Jeremy doesn’t think he’s ever seen before. He’s hot, with fluffy black hair that falls into his face, and he looks haunted, which appeals to Jeremy. Jeremy breathes, “Oh no.”

In honour of Neil Josten’s first birthday, here are some things that he’s done in my wips over the last year:
1-disregarded aaron’s rules
2-moaned in a church
3-became penpals with andrew
4-made fun of kevin for being a pathetic loser

“What are the rules?” Neil fixes a glare in Aaron’s direction. Aaron is undeterred. “No, I’m so serious. What are the rules?” “Why are you acting like I’ve ever misbehaved?” “You lit fireworks at the last party and no one even knows where you got them.” “From the fireworks store, obviously.” Aaron doesn’t answer. He just stares and stares, and Neil stares and stares back. Aaron, as always, is the one to lose patience. He exhales through his nose and sighs, “Just promise.” Neil lifts a finger as he lists Aaron’s stupid rules. “Be normal. Don’t be weird. No arson. And don’t talk to your brother.” - “Fancy seeing you here.” Andrew is sitting in the pews not at all listening to the sermons until he notices the guy with the red hair at the front is suddenly louder. Saying, “Yes,” and “amen,” and “Yes, God, yes,” in a progressively provocative manner. He gets caught, though, pinched viciously by the woman beside him - her name is Mary, he knows, and that’s her son next to her, Neil - so he stops responding altogether. Day Do not call me that I will literally shank you in the hallway. Day Andrew Minyard! HAHA, the way you walked up to me and showed me your knife was… unexpected. I especially liked when you said “I will shank you” in front of my friend Matt. He nearly fainted you know. He has a weak constitution despite his tall build. But now I know it’s there. Are you revealing your cards too early in this budding friendship, Andrew? When Kevin becomes a little self-concious and curls in on himself, now only whispering lalalala, he hears it all too clearly when Neil says, "Your crush on Aaron is embarrassing. And you need to fix that."

I am periodically reminded that I am allergic to my cat when I do things like kiss his head every day, develop blisters around my mouth, stop kissing him, stop the blisters. How am I expected to stop forever when he’s so cute though…..
