Apparently, I was in a stark B&W mood on the trip too, since I made this photo of cottonwood buds. Another one I'd completely forgotten about and reminds me of photograms from my early PCNW days.
This high-contrast black and white image shows the silhouettes of cottonwood tree branches with their distinctive buds against a completely dark background. Some of my favourite photos from Zion are trees against the rocks, and I'd totally forgotten about this one. Usually I'm there in the fall, so spring flowers is really cool.

Also did some star trail photos, which I recall being painful because car headlights kept washing the hills.

That was a good trip for photos. I also snagged this one that satisfies my love of transportation/engineering.

Ten years ago today, I took this photo of a canyon in Zion National Park. It still hurts my head.

Nine years ago today: sunrise at White Sands National Monument, one of the rare photos I've taken there I'm truly happy with.

This is still, without question, the most insane sunset I've ever experienced.

I'd totally forgotten I'd taken this photo, 14 years ago, of the Merced River.

Clear Lake, in Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba, Canada. Taken in 2015. I don't miss the cold, but I do miss the flat.
