And some of us thought Trump was too much like Chávez as early as 2015! Most of the Venezuelans in the US I know would fall under this category--we're not a fun group to report on, but we're her!

I also have had to explain to some of the Venezuelans in my life that Trump and not Bernie (or the Democrats in general) is the one who most resembles Chavez. What a fucking mess!🤦♀️

My friend, it's true that US media does not cover Latin America well. The collapse of the Bolívar and of the Venezuelan economy preceded the sanctions and have little relation to the seizure of assets of wealthy government officials. What the US is doing to Venezuelans right now is unconscionable.

I am HAPPY to donate. However, is there a way to verify that this is really going to them? The Venezuelan internet is filled with scams, and I want to be extra careful.
