Sincerely I mean this, Nero never did anything this stupid
French Senator Claude Malhuret:

"Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

Two Republican senators told me tonight this vote shows they can execute the same strategy again — cut Democrats out of the negotiations on a gov’t funding bill, pass it thru the House, and expect Senate Dems to back down and not filibuster it.

“We liked it over here,” one said.

When faced with either letting the government shut down, or letting Trump and Musk wreck it, the choice for Democrats is clear and simple. Shut it down to save it. Let the people know that no president gets to be a dictator, and that poor electoral choices have poor outcomes.

My latest post is now out.

I show how Trump's attacks on science and universities are neither random nor new - they fit very precisely into the authoritarian playbook.

This means we can guess what might come next and prepare - and we must!

You're nuts if you're questioning the wisdom and leadership of the Democratic Party right now. They're not the problem. The problem is the voters. What we need to do is replace 300 million voters

Like many born into slavery, abolitionist Frederick Douglass never knew his birthday.

His mother called him “little valentine” and so he chose to celebrate on Valentine’s Day.

We are, full stop, denying that the neoclassical price mechanism exists (and I'd go further and deny that the "classical price mechanism" exists either). That means we don't think prices are ever indices of "scarcity" and indeed that "relative scarcity" is a fictitious notion.
