Middle child is doing couch to 5k so guess who gets to go out with her 😁😁
We did week 2 run 1 tonight with the dog as well. It was COLD (I'm not used to walking so much) but nice to spend time chatting with her 😊

I want to know about the teachers who do get paid - because that's the first I've ever heard of it!

While that *may* have been true in the past, respectfully I disagree that this is the case currently. For starters, union block voting has been abolished, so that is no more.

Omg, this.
Husband is off sailing, I managed to get all 3 kids out to the remembrance parade for scouts, rushed home to vacuum and mop.
I had just finished whenever all 3.kids trooped in with muddy feet from the churchyard bit, and biscuit crumbs from the scout hut afterwards.
Why did I bother?!

Would love to meet up for a few beers maybe one day, but hopefully we could find more cheerful topics of conversation 🍺🍻

Yes probably too many reasons to unpick.

Honest question - do you think covid has affected how developing brains develop, so kids are just different now, or do you think it's just everything that has happened in society and lockdowns and all of that?

It needs to be funded. The campaign should be for more funds to staff toilet monitors to enable safe access.
November 6, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Currently children are allowed access to toilets between lessons - when teachers stand in their doorways and can monitor the toilet areas, or the corridors are busy - and at break and lunch when staff do "duties" to ensure safety.
It would be lovely to be able to do this, but it's not safe.
November 5, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I hate to be that person - but unrestricted access to unmonitored toilets is a safeguarding hazard. Children can suffer abuse, bullying, self harm, and other harms in toilet areas. If this is to be policy then there has to be paid toilet monitors at all times to ensure safety.

Everyone I chat to at work or in my social circle no longer has any radio 4 or BBC news or BBC politics/current affairs on anymore. Everyone is sick of the constant over promotion of Reform. We want more LibDem and Green airtime!

They might still insist you take responsibility for it.... 😉

What this will also do is make schools pressure teachers more to give up more of their unpaid time.
After school extra curricular activities and residentials not paid.
