You shall come to a prison built of regrets and sorrow, where the shadows themselves have gone mad.
There's an African AdamSomething? =)

It's hard to find an Enemy of America that didn't used to work for the CIA. (e.g Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden)

The new thing with Russia and China is almost refreshingly straight-forward.

I forget that this was the whole Satanic Panic era and that Heavy Metal was extremely offensive to refined sensibilities. =/

(Or at least, what passed for refined sensibilities in the dictator's home in Panama. He was another gold-leaf on everything trashheap, right?)

TFW they tell you to shoot down a thousand drones in five minutes or the Nimitz is toast.

(FWIW a very large number of the 900 missile are expected to be shot down/distracted/otherwise lost, the actual number of hits to completely disable the carrier is in the low double digits)

Just in time for the drone-swarm mothership/bomber the Chinese are allegedly putting together.

... the arms race is on-going!

(What skepticism I have is largely built around the fact that Ukraine, a country without a navy, effectively defeated the Russian navy. That's an iffy foundation, but...)

D&D gets weird when you have a lot of low level things fighting a very high level thing.

Carriers are just well designed to take hits so that they don't instantly sink or lose critical systems in one go.

(Meanwhile Tarrasques are immune to non-magical piercing/slashing attacks?)

Shit, that's not even terrible really.

(Long story short if you launch about 900 missiles at the same time you might just get it done, but maybe that's also a good way to waste 900 missiles, too, since it's a moving target at a great range with a bunch of decoys as well, in addition to the devoted array of destroyers et al)

I read this as nanometers and I am just not cut out for naval warfare/history. =)

(The Cappy Army channel on Youtube did a pretty full rundown on this last month and yeah, I agree, the odds of a successful carrier kill by virtually anyone are very low, on paper.)

We sorta forget that while Iraq had massive public opposition, it was a country still governed by the guy who liked to invade neighbouring countries, a household badguy name. America's enemy, building ABC weapons.

Venezeula just... helps move some drugs. Rich people drugs. =/

I have been musing on whether Venezuela could sink an aircraft carrier, and I don't think it's very likely but also more or less any damage at all that hints at any kind of extra vulnerability to the floating castles might just be enough to bring a president down. =/

(Yeah I guess in the 20th century they would have made a full 30 minute T.V out of it, instead of 5 minutes.)
