its a good deal per issue of comic, its a bad deal when you read ultimate x-men and realise they should have paid you $36 to read that

imagine paying $36 for 14 issues of ultimate x-men (2001)

one or both of them should die in this crossover by the others hand

the crux of that comic plotpoint is the fascist leader hates humanity because that is inherent to the ideology, so much he falls for the computer that runs the surveilance state because its the 80s, if you don't take that existing prescient plot point and tweak it for 2025 you're a coward tbh

yeah I'm very interested to see how things spin out of AoR a lot of those relationships will surely be changed after it, and I imagine there will be a bit of shuffling around of some members, I'm interested to see if cyclops is off by himself for a bit for the mini or happening same time as adjectiv

thinking about it more, the thing Uncanny's team vs adj team is everyone in uncanny has the same relationship but with a slightly different flavour, all the grown ups are long standing teammates and all the kids relationships to them are mentor + student, vs adj has very individual relationships

uncanny feels like its got lots of individual established relationship combos like wolvie + kurt, kurt + rogue, rogue + gambit, wolvie and jubilee but they haven't filled in the gaps for the people who haven't really interacted like adjectiveless has

even the side characters on adjectiveless have good chemistry with the team, got glob and quentin having history, all the team have chemistry in some way both historic and newer stuff like animalia + beast or Psylocke + magik in psylocke's series, Magik and Juggernaut are fantastic together this run

that book just kept building and I was so scared it was gonna misstep somewhere and it just never did, everything landed for me the whole way through, loved and loved to hate every character we got time with, it was beautiful a perfect mix of scheming intrigue and gorgeous nick dragotta action!

I got maybe 12 issues in at the time and fell off reading comics generally, big news, East of West? that's a good comic! my pitch for it sounds insane but I'm right! its Kill Bill x Dune, two very weird flavours to mix but it works so well!
