This was Nov 1992. Out of Time was a huge success and Automatic had only been released in Oct, and they hadn’t toured in 3 years, so it was newsworthy. MTV mentioned it in their news briefs that weekend. So incredibly lucky to have been there. Best show ever.

To the best of my memory it was a private fundraiser for a local politician. We could hear them playing from the parking lot and asked at the door. The bouncer let us in! I think it was mostly local folks since it wasn’t advertised. REM seemed to know many in the crowd. Keep in mind ->

I was there too! Visiting from Boston and had the dumbest luck ever to be there in person as an REM superfan. One of the best nights ever.

Oh Dave, so sorry to hear. She seemed ok recently? I hope you find comfort knowing she is with your dad and in the many many memories over the years. Xoxo

I respectfully say, “Nope”. I don’t like it. This song is perfect in its original form. (And my favorite slow song from REM). Don’t mess with perfection.
