Thank you to everyone who voted, volunteered, and supported our candidates. We are amazed by the collective support we've received throughout our mission to restore the veto. This is just the beginning—we have more work to do, but the foundation is laid. #ncpol
There’s a lot to unpack in the House budget. We’re glad to see strong investments in teacher pay and disaster recovery for WNC, but there are some concerns around power grabs and fiscal responsibility. We're looking forward to robust discussion in committee today. #ncpol #ncga

Warrantless surveillance? Banned. Parental rights? Protected. Reproductive freedom? Guaranteed.” Sounds good, right? That’s what HB503 promised. Too bad NC Republicans wouldn’t even give it a vote. #ncpol

The NC House Dems had a bill that:
✅ Raised wages
✅ Cut childcare costs
✅ Brought back the child tax credit
✅ Gave working parents paid leave
So of course… the NC House GOP buried it.

Today we mourn the loss of opportunity for better schools, better pay and a better future. HB420 could’ve changed everything. But the NC GOP chose politics over public education, again. #ncpol #ncga

Fully funding school meals. Raising teacher pay. Supporting kids with disabilities. Republicans didn’t even give it a hearing in the NC House this session.

By a near unanimous vote, the North Carolina House passed House Bill 515- the North Carolina Economic Abuse Prevention Act. We are one step closer to giving domestic violence survivors legal protections against coerced debt. On to the Senate!

Here's a live look at NC House GOP lining up for their ivermectin after passing HB 618, which forces pharmacists to hand it out without a prescription. Glad we've got our priorities straight over there. 😒 #ncpol

Looking through HB 549 votes yesterday (possibly one of the most hypocritical bills this year), Rep. Schietzelt (HD-35) was listed with a "Not Voting" designation. I wonder why? Because he was definitely there. It's likely he knows it's a bad bill, but he doesn't have the courage to vote NO. #ncpol

Assault weapon ban, ghost guns, more school security among new gun safety bills
North Carolina democrats filed 12 new gun bills. Supporters call them “common sense” reforms. Opponents worry they go against the Second Amendment.

Latest book ban bill, HB 636 isn’t about protecting kids, it’s about wasting taxpayer money. It opens the door to endless lawsuits over library books. Schools will spend more time in court than in classrooms. This isn’t government efficiency, it’s government overreach, paid for by you. #ncpol #ncga

The GOP’s SB 382 isn’t disaster relief—it’s a blatant power grab that exploits Hurricane Helene victims to push their extreme agenda. Gov. Cooper was right to veto this sham bill. NC deserves real relief, not partisan games. #ncpol

The “disaster relief” bill does nothing to help Western NC, but rather is a self-serving power grab to consolidate power and control in the hands of Republicans. Watch a portion of my floor speech from last night to learn where the NC GOP priorities lie.
