Most households subject to the two-child limit already have at least one adult in work.

Of the minority of households that are not in work, more than nine-in-ten have a child under three or a disabled family member with additional care needs, making any return to the labour market challenging.

As a congressman, Sean Duffy made an impassioned legal case against executive overreach. A decade later, judges have used those same arguments to rebuke him for withholding billions in transportation funding.

A reminder that Netflix wants Warner Bros and HBO’s studios and library. Larry Ellison through Paramount wants CNN, which would stay under the Discovery networks that WB is splitting off.

If Paramount doesn’t get WB, they’ll surely go after CNN anyway.
Netflix’s new bid to buy Warner Bros is a mostly cash offer.

The company is arranging a mega-loan to be able to buy WB

Today the news will be about the government's proposals for juries.

Please read this thread so as to be informed about the actual practical problems in the criminal justice system - problems which will not be solved by this misconceived and illiberal tinkering.
Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

I should also note that while my specific criticism of the CPS analysis was its errors on wage and employment data, it also contained this deeply unpleasant racist/sexist dog-whistle, amplified by @rcolvile.bsky.social in his Sunday Times article.

@london.gov.uk is a really good mayor. Not a perfect mayor. But most of us who actually live here think he is doing a good job and like the cut of his jib, which is why we keep voting for him. That’s the relatively unshocking non-attention-grabbing, truthful counterpoint to Trump’s total gubbins.

Federal law grants Congress the power to create visa categories and set or authorize fees for them.

The law generally authorizes federal agencies to set fees to recover the cost of processing an application.

$100,000 fee for an H-1B visa is a punitive tax rather than a cost-recovery measure.
This is a disaster for tech companies and the extension of Trump's xenophobic bigotry, refusing to acknowledge that immigrants can be smarter than Americans.
