Whennnn will the state actually take the reins and lower our utility bills? It's almost parody at this point how low CA utilities rank while profits soar and rates skyrocket. State has the power. Do something!

Thx to KPBS for this story and including us! It is political capitulation not to build near this trolley stop. @sdclimateaction.bsky.social also supports SB 79 for exactly this reason. Helping families find housing they can afford near transit they can use is a crucial climate solution!
San Diego’s Blue Line trolley has ridership numbers that most light rail systems can only dream of. But the Clairemont Drive Station attracts the fewest passengers by far. Why?

Because freeway, and because zoning.

MTS ridership data reveal high cost of banning apartments near trolley stations
The Clairemont Drive Station attracts fewer passengers than any other station on the Blue Line trolley. Experts blame the city's restrictive zoning.

SD! Your bills are going sky high, and one is very troubling-SDGE. While families struggle and suffer--Sempra is drinking champagne and bragging to Wall Street about record profits! That's why we're fighting to lower your bills. SDGE will stop at nothing to keep profiteering, but we got your back.
