(Okay, the weird holding-still in the first few seconds was because I didn't realize the camera was on me during the introduction. 😑 It got better. 🙂)

Pleased as punch to not only be asked for my list of "best picture books for children", but to write brief reviews for three of them! It's a marvelous list, and I so appreciated the chance to indulge in thinking and talking about the craft of creating such amazing works. buff.ly/kqWybOq

Today my @nytimes.com colleagues and I are launching a new series called Lost Science. We interview US scientists who can no longer discover something new about our world, thanks to this year‘s cuts. Here is my first interview with a scientist who studied bees and fires. Gift link: nyti.ms/3IWXbiE

Sadly, I have to share that due to not being included in the Wisconsin state budget, we have to put our program on pause for the time being. bit.ly/45P1Pb7 😢

We've been honored to serve the early care & education community of our state, & we value what you all do. 😘

Today marks the last day of my term as Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council on Early Childhood. I hand off the silver baby rattle “Chair’s Gavel” to my successor.

It’s been a good run, and I only hope I left it better than when I started. #TopCouncil

this is so dumb that we need a new word for how dumb it is; she is, what, a Krebs Cycle Truther?
Going through some of the surgeon general nominee's old tweets and there is the usual antivax light stuff, SEED OILS will kill you fast, and THINK ABOUT YOUR MITOCHONDRIA! But this is just stupid.

Medicaid is a "power up" for children's futures. Pass it on: buff.ly/8qP3VIm

"I routinely see how Medicaid makes it possible for Wisconsin children to flourish and thrive."
Opinion | Medicaid cuts would threaten health care for Wisconsin kids
Dipesh Navsaria: Medicaid cuts will affect all children, not only those enrolled in the program, because our pediatric care systems rely on Medicaid.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT BRITAIN AGAIN
Aren't you tired of how central money is to our democracy?

To give a sense of out-of-kilter we are, a single state court race saw significantly more spending than the entire United Kingdom national election.
