One of the known risks of extreme weather and events worsened by climate change is that insurance companies in some places will go bust, either leaving governments to step in or households and businesses to be ruined.

Everyone should read this before voting in #GE24 for unsustainable tax cuts.

Ireland needs to revisit the last Tax and Welfare Commission report and get serious about broadening and deepening our tax base.

While most parties promise to spend billions here and there after #ge24, my UCD Geary Institute paper on my report for the Community Platform argues that the next government could eliminate consistent poverty - including taking all 57,840 children out of consistent poverty - for €450 million.
