I'm talking about French officials (Dassault), not about French people.

comes to shared workload. Airbus, Typhoon, Panavia ... And somehow, nobody seems to get something done with France. Those are the facts. Until we know more, anything else is speculation. And no, I don't hold a grudge against France. I don't know how you come to think that.

Germany and Spain have good reasons to not go ahead. At least the German side has always made clear that a cooperation with France is what they want. And i really can't imagine that German officials are blowing this up because they are greedy. Lots of good examples are already there when it 3/4

Also if it's in French, i expect a certain bias. AFAIK it's not fully public why exactly the parties won't agree. But if Germany and Spain say they are aiming for a fair and balanced agreement, and all Dassault is saying is basically "just sign the contract, bro", I'm gonna assume 2/3

The sources you shared .. 3/4 sources are at least 2 years old and provide nothing but "Dassault CEO says we're waiting for the signage of the contract" without making clear what the details are. The fourth source is in French, and i don't trust translators to properly translate in this case. 1/2

All i see is a country with it's nose above it's forehead, pretending they did everything right and others are to blame, while not offering anything of concrete value. France is playing captain hindsight, while sporting a fancy monocle on it's eye. 2/2

Also gotta reply to this. You act like France hasn't been doing strategic mistakes. France has been in bed with Russia just as much as the rest of Europe.

Let me know when France can offer a F-35 equivalent and/or actually offers the "nuclear umbrella". 1/2

This wouldn't be the first time France pulls this crap. I'm not inclined to believe them anymore, tbh. If they can't deal on equal terms, they can deal with themselves. There are plenty good, reliable partners in Europe.

"Just like in the 1980s, France’s Dassault is demanding it lead the project, refusing to be an equal partner with Germany’s Airbus."

So if Germany and Spain want to stick to the agreements everybody agreed to earlier with a fair share, but France breaks out and comes up with ridiculous demands, how is "Germany's ego too big"?

Ach gottchen.
