This petition e-6802 is on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, training on it for health professionals and access to care in Canada.

I know someone who travelled out of country for this care.

If we value HC we need to continually organize to have a voice or risk loosing more supt.

Ask Carney for citizens assembly for mandate to change HC

“Canada’s premiers are hoping for changes to how provinces’ and territories’ health care systems are funded and an increase in the money which flows to them from Ottawa.”

It did for me as well. I believe sharing personal stories is the only thing that will impact change in healthcare. If enough people share their story the news cannot ignore it.

Time to write the new PM and ask for a citizens assembly on healthcare? ⤵️
#CDNHealth
Write & ask PM Carney to fund a National Citizens Assembly on Healthcare for these 3 core issues:

1) Jurisdiction
2) For Profit vs Non-Profit delivery
3) At Fault vs No-Fault harm in care compensation.

S Korea Nationalized healthcare and it paid off big time.

The sale of LifeLabs to a foreign owner occurred on Eby & Dix’s watch.

There was no public move to stop it, no public move to buy BC’s assets and bring them into public fold.

HC should be designed by citizens assembly, not politicians & donors
LifeLabs workers are on strike in BC, resulting in rotating lab closures. I have to go to the lab often and offer the following explainer in solidarity with the workers. #LifeLabsStrike🧵

Political party ideology and politician connections should not be driving our health system(s) in Canada.

Let’s have a cross country checkup and ask about citizens assemblies to guide system design and jurisdiction.

I propose citizens assembly on healthcare.

Funded federally, conducted as individual groups in each Prov & Territory.

Phase 1:
-Jurisdiction: Nationalize vs continued Regions.
#cdnhealth

Amalgamate groups supporting nationalizing.

Regions against nationalize stay siloed.

Decisions binding.

If politicians ignore research we pay for, why do we research anything in Canada?

Serious question.

Can’t blame Trudeau for not paying for another national commission, it’d be ignored.

The last commission had tones of nationalizing for a reason.

Govt has prioritized day surgery over URGENT limb and life threatening surgery.

(and if you don't need surgery, but are sick, you will wait days in an ED to get your medical conditions cared for because hospitals are overflowing w pts waiting for surgical care!)

It's all connected.

As usual, Dr. Parks is right. In July, my mom smashed her tibia into multiple pieces. She had to wait almost a week for emergency surgery with nothing but a splint and some painkillers that kind of worked. #ableg #abhealth
Why Albertans should care - let's simplify:
If you break your ankle or hip, or have a gallbladder attack, you will now wait DAYS in hallways in overflowing hospitals awaiting surgery. Used to be hours.
Those surgeries can't be done in a CSFs.

Apparently the $200 will total $3 billion, or thereabouts.

That’s enough to buy real estate for a number of primary care clinics, Or, lots of new imaging equipment.
New MRI’s, CT’s and or ultrasound equipment.

Similar issues across Canada, we should not wait more than 4 weeks for imaging.

With Trudeau's resignation we lose AGAIN, over 30 yrs, digital interoperability in healthcare records, Bill C-72.
I worked for failed Infoway 25 yrs ago. Installed industry leader Pharmanet in BC 30 yrs ago.
If Infoway had completed its work on health records interoperability in a reasonable time frame we could have better national data.

Time to reduce political interference in healthcare across Canada & create real system accountability.
