Democrats were overwhelmingly united on their shutdown demands.
Americans understood that Trump and Republicans were to blame.
Voters made it known last Tuesday that they'll elect leaders who stand up to Trump.
Democrats held the cards — and folded for no reason.

We can only hope 🙏
The Dem party did not heed the will of the people after trump first won. And they didn’t AGAIN when they forced Harris. Let’s hope this is strike three and we stop listening to people that have been in politics for over THREE decades. Things have only gotten better for the rich!

New in PN: Cue the rebellion
"The unfortunate conclusion to the shutdown is going to fuel a rebellion within the Democratic Party, one that has already begun but will only get stronger. And despite all the justified disgust now being expressed at Dems, in the long run it will be good for the party"

Cue the rebellion
The Democratic base is enraged at their party's capitulation — and that's a good thing.

This isn’t law enforcement doing its job. It’s the escalation of a culture of fear that punishes anyone who dares to document it.

There would not have been enough space on the opinion pages of newspapers or segments on cable news to cover the amount of outrage that the media would have directed at Joe Biden if he did not know the standard duration of a home mortgage, but Trump? Crickets.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)
They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

So @schumer.senate.gov really thinks we don’t understand that he orchestrated this by getting senators not up for re-election to vote yes?

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Sadly, it sounds like they are going to burn all that good support up by voting with the Republicans to continue the loss of ACA benefits…
Democrats had a huge week across the country on Election Day: Spanberger won big in Virginia, Sherrill defied the polls in New Jersey, Mamdani crushed Cuomo in NYC, and Newsom locked in his redistricting plan in California. And it points to good news ahead for Dems next year! 👏
Our Wins Of The Week
This week saw huge Democratic electoral gains across the country in a widespread rejection of Trump’s second term in office.

It is so f***ing hilarious how small someone’s dick has to be to go that insanely hard on putting tacky fake gold bulls**t all around your office. I feel good knowing there’s at least one executive out there that will see this photo, look around their own office, and immediately feel impotent. 😂 🤦♂️

Time after time, Homeland Security’s accounts of its violent incidents in Chicago turn out to be lies. Local journalists and a federal judge have done a good job of calling them out. I wish the national political media had the same level of skepticism toward “official” accounts by proven liars.
