Re-upping the "award winning cidermaker" part of my bio - thank you to the New England Homebrew Jamboree for a #1 prize for my 2023 Quebec-style ice cider.

Regarding the discourse du jour, you don't even want a regular knife for opening boxes. One of these "Canary" tools is way better. It's good at cutting through tape and cardboard without cutting or stabbing the contents or yourself, and is coated (Teflon?) so tape doesn't stick to it.

The same commuter rail train has gone by on the Grand Junction line (non-revenue) four times in the past hour. Some kind of track testing? There's this laser-scanner-looking glow under two of the coaches. @universalhub.com

Quality graphic design on the next-stop displays on the MBTA's new trains. At some stops the ovals for connecting buses have drop shadows, at some they don't. Ovals for things other than buses never have shadows.

I don't think this is how the parking enforcement cameras in Somerville were meant to be used.

A Bad Place classic:
Reactions to Socks as a Christmas Gift by Calendar Age:

0-3: blurb nurg (eats socks)
4-12: oh, socks

19-39: oh thank god, something useful, thank god
