SB 1494 makes voting easier for Texans.

Here’s what it does:
✅ Aligns local elections with high-turnout dates
✅ Increases voter participation
✅ Reduces election costs
✅ Non-partisan, with elections in odd numbered years

A win for Texas voters. (3/3)

Why it matters: Many Texas cities hold local elections in May, where turnout is often in the single digits.

That means fewer voices and higher election costs.

SB 1494 changes that. It lets cities move local elections to November — with a deadline to switch by December 31, 2026. (2/3)

Housing affordability remains a major challenge across Texas.

Senate Bill 2835 provides local governments with a great new tool — allowing apartment buildings with a single stairway, up to six stories tall, as long as they meet strict safety standards. (2/5)
