From running the HEROES project for veterans and military families, to expanding access to help and ensuring justice in veteran treatment courts, to upholding veteran rights in lending, employment, and leave programs, I’ll make sure Texas keeps its promises to those who served.

The discussion spotlighted the work happening at the state level to support and strengthen our growing Dallas region.

Thank you to the Oak Cliff Chamber for convening this summit, and to JBJ Management for sponsoring. #TXLege #SD16

NiHao Food Bank Initiative's work goes beyond food distribution. It’s about consistent leadership and action in addressing hunger, building a foundation that lasts.

Trump’s deployment of troops to Oregon is no more respectful of our troops than it is of the Americans he’s using the troops to intimidate. #txlege

Go ahead, roll the usual bot-driven torrent about Trump’s martial law being about law and order. Nonsense. It’s authoritarian order without the law.

Democratic AGs from 24 states and the District of Columbia did their job. Republican AGs didn’t. But Ken is darn well gonna make sure that your kid’s geometry class has a 10 Commandments poster in the right font. Thanks Ken. Way to support the schools.

Stupid doesn’t have to be partisan; sometimes they just make it that way. Not a single Republican Attorney General joined the litigation against the Trump administration for unconstitutionally interfering with the power of the legislative branch AND WITHHOLDING OUR MONEY!

Instead of suing the Trump administration for withholding around $700M of appropriated education funding from our public schools, Ken Paxton sends scary letters to school districts telling them to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom (patently unconstitutional).

This milestone was made possible in part by SB 2181 (87R) — bipartisan legislation authored by my good friends Sen. Royce West and Rep. Rafael Anchía, which I was proud to support. #TXLege #SD16
