Making sense of change. Essays, stories, comics, mathematics. Probably outside.
Had fun at Matt Madden’s workshop on “Tritina comics” @comicsworkshop.bsky.social last Friday. It brought together all of my interests: writing, mathematics, art. Love it when that happens 💫

Got a first draft done in-session and then redrew it yesterday.

It was satisfying to, once again, find the right book at the right time, in physical space, and flip it open to what I needed in the moment. Read both of these twice. Ah, they’re so good 🪷

Light + Park #WinterSolsticeSketchdown

Didn’t want to draw a finished piece and decided to “just doodle” instead. Ended up drawing five finished pieces 🙃

Tree x Café #WinterSolsticeSketchdown

Found myself getting a little too precious about this one and limited the time to 15 minutes. Have decided to focus on expression and ideation for now; keeping a list of techniques to work on for later.

To celebrate the changing season and practice drawing, I’ve created a list of prompts for the next 45 days. Personally prefer a non-linear order, with the option to combine prompts and take days off, so I’ve turned the list into a grid, collection, and picker wheel (pickerwheel.com?id=f9f2z) too.

The lake below seems to be a haven for parent turtles and their babies, too. I love watching them swim 😘🐢

Had so much fun at @davidlasky.bsky.social’s Haiku Comics workshop at @comicsworkshop.bsky.social tonight! Have spent this year exploring creative disciplines outside my own to carry my work to a clean finish; and this session brought all of them together❣️

There's nothing quite like finding a tree with the perfect toehold after a long search. Here's my twenty-minute attempt to capture the experience. #Peachtober2025 #Comics

(Highly recommend Kevin Lucbert's work, btw. Learned a lot about capturing light from him: www.kevinlucbert.com/index.php?/m...)

An Aesop's fable for our time. What a line: "What is sport to you is death to us."

Omg, this is amazing!!! I've wanted to learn how to dive since finding this National Geographic issue in a tiny library and listening to the companion podcast in 2022. Had a lot of medical to get through first, but I hope to get in the water before year's end or next spring!

Joined #Peachtober2025 yesterday. No plans to do it everyday: weekends are enough. Our prompt was “gingham”.

Have been frustrated by claims that we'll beat fascism when we embrace reason. It's more complicated than that.

Feel like Sailor Moon fans have a competitive advantage when it comes to surviving techno-fascism because we know evil is fundamentally about stealing energy at scale. Once you understand that principle, you can avoid getting distracted by details — what, how, why — and focus on winning.
