Just came over from the dark place and seeking out fellow movie nerds. If you post it, they will come? Director/Writer, 🇬🇧/🇫🇷, enjoyer of dark chocolate and daydreams.
I instantly think Beetlejuice, every time.

The loss of Robert Redford cuts deep into my childhood heart. I had to call my dad right away, and I'm so grateful that I still can. 😓

Entirely unimportant question but hopefully someone can enlighten me:

Why am I seeing so many women with silver make-up on in the last few months? Like a strange "Tin man" sheen over their normal make-up. Anyone else notice this? Just me?

I just need to scream into the void a bit here: Henry Cavill was a brilliant Superman. Corenswet is arguably an even more brilliant Superman. Neither have gotten a mildly good enough script. I LOVE the GOTGs flicks and Suic.Sq. but Superman doesn't belong in one of them - and so here I am, annoyed.

I have such PTSD from "Breaking Bad" that I can't bear to see Dean Norris die on screen anymore. Please take note, casting directors. We all deserve some healing.

Well, the tradition continues, my 27th Oscars ceremony seen live and it's off to bed at 4am. With (sadly) no "Sing Sing" or "Nickel Boys" surprises, my highlight this year is an easy one:

Halle Berry better assault him if Adrien Brody wins.

I kept hearing the 90s were back but it's not til I saw Conan, Whoopi, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Queen Latifah, Halle Berry and Morgan Freeman all on stage in the same hour that I fully comprehended.

Oh look! Morgan Freeman at the Oscars! Finally. Thought I was watching the Grammy's for a hot hour there.

Nice that the Sandworm won an Oscar after featuring so heavily tonight.

Okay, the Oscars have lost the plot since last commercial break. "A sequel is 20 years old today, so here is not-the-lead-actress from that sequel to present Best Editing."

What nonsense excuse did they give as to why this Bond thing is happening?! And why are randomers taking part in it?! We lost nominated performances for this?!
March 3, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Curiosity got the better of me so I popped back to the "dark place" to see what people answered to Besos's query on who should be the new Bond... Sigh. Let me spare you the visit, there were essentially only two responses: Henry Cavill, or a hiiiilaaaarious racist DEI "gag".

This looks like a headline from The Onion. What a moron. He's clearly running low on villainous ideas. Next up? Loud engines that go Vrrm Vrrm only, and a ban on anything fluffy. Also, no sand, cos it gets everywhere.

We'll be okay! Life imitates art. Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Zuckerberg. Jesse Eisenberg played Lex Luthor. Mark Zuckerberg became Lex Luthor. Ergo, Sofia Coppola will be Black Widow, Chris Gardner - Hancock, Boston Globe writers - Batman & Hulk. We're saved! Phew, I was close to losing my mind.

As she rocks back and forth in her office in the dark, her words do little to comfort her, but she speaks them anyway: "We still have Herzog, we still have Herzog, we still have Herzog..."

I saw "Better Man" two weeks ago and you'll never ever guess what song keeps popping into my head...
