Sadly a lot of the time they’re blaming victims of this crap as being “stupid rednecks” who deserve what we get or whatever. Even tho the vast majority of Black folks live in the U.S. South. Easier to shortcut blame with so-called hot takes than to get involved/help fix it we suppose.

There are votes still outstanding in Clarksville which is close and Nashville which is hugely blue. There's still a slim chance. The energy around this race has been like nothing we have ever seen. @aftynbehn.bsky.social has much to be proud of in #TN07.
It looks like Matt Van Epps will win and that's no surprise: but it's down to a 4% gap. It that holds, that's an 18% swing from the 2024 election. And the @apnews.com, the gold standard for election coverage, hasn't called the race yet.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
