...GP locums especially need to be actively involved from the outset – ensuring these new neighbourhood systems genuinely understand, integrate, and value the unique flexibility, skills, and perspectives locums bring to the NHS front line.

GPs fortunate enough to have jobs are overworked, potentially leading to inefficiencies and underperformance. Meanwhile, those without jobs are left in limbo, jeopardizing their well-being and the future of general practice itself.

General practice needs the strong clinical leadership of GP partners, it needs these clinical leaders to take responsibility for providing joined-up services, and it needs the stability and continuity that comes with the partnership model.
