Hi I’m Alex, I’m a PhD student in #physics and #photonics in Spain 🇪🇸.

I’m currently working on the effects of complex beam shaping and different nanomaterials to improve characterization techniques. 🔬

I’m looking forward to meeting other people, talking about science and collaborating! 🙌🏼 👨‍💻
Interesting read about the effects of structured light on different nanostructures
Vector beams bend light in unusual ways—revealing hidden effects at the nanoscale. Researchers at @illinoisstateu.bsky.social are using cylindrical vector beams, which twist electric & magnetic fields across the beam, unlike regular light.

Several spectroscopic technologies rely on optical frequency combs, which produce equally spaced lines. The combs’ speed and precision are limited by light’s inherent quantum fluctuations. Now researchers have shown that this noise can be suppressed by another quantum phenomenon: entanglement.
Entanglement Boosts Spectroscopy
A new spectroscopy method outperforms its rivals by pairing an ordinary frequency comb with an entangled one.
