Time’s up! 🚦

How did it go? I’m finally catching up to where I [should have been yesterday] - I got 590 words that time. How about you?

Look away from your screen - give your eyeballs a break - & we’ll finish up w/a 20-minute sprint at 10:40. (Illustration from Public domain vectors on Unsplash)

Ready for a 15-minute word sprint? We'll write until 10:35. ⏰

Optional prompt: An anonymous note shows up in your main character’s jacket pocket and makes them cry. 😭 Who wrote it? What does it say? (thanks to Olga Thelavart on Unsplash for the pic)

And, GO!
November 11, 2025 at 6:20 PM
And let’s WRITE! GO for 10 minutes…

Don’t edit, don’t go backwards, just keep moving those words forward. See you at 10:15. (Thanks to Alexandra on Unsplash for the pic.)

Welcome to Word Sprint time! 🏃🏻

We’ll start at :05 w/a 10-minute sprint to warm up our fingers & brains.

Need a prompt? Try the fish-out-of-water scenario! Get your main character out of their comfort zone and watch the conflicts fly.

⏰ We are 15 minutes away from word sprint time!

I’ve got @chrisbaty.bsky.social’s No Plot? No Problem! 📖, hot coffee in my bookworm mug ☕, and M-n-Ms in Gramma Lucy’s candy dish to reward me after each sprint (only 4 at a time, then back to writing).

What are YOUR word-sprint must-haves? 💡

Hello, I'm @ansleyashe.bsky.social signing in.

Let me tell you 3 things about me. (That you can't find on my profile).

I just finished knitting a baby blanket for my friend's first grandbaby.

I'm staying at my mom's farm until Tuesday.

I drink more tea than coffee, but it's a close call.

I love hiding little easter eggs in my writing, especially royal ones.

And speaking of Royals and easter eggs, here is a set of photos from 2021 of Queen Margrethe (blue sweater) painting easter eggs with her son and daughter-in-law, Frederik & Mary, and their four children.

Kronborg Castle served as the setting for William Shakespeare's play Hamlet. (The play used the anglicised name, Elsinore, which comes from the surrounding town, Helsingør.)

Crown Prince Christian took this photo of Kronborg Castle while flying over during a military exercise.

Denmark’s most famous writer is Hans Christian Andersen. He is known for his fairy tales, including:
The Little Mermaid
The Princess and The Pea
The Emperor's New Clothes

Born in poverty, Hans received funds 💲 from the Royal Family to support his education and literary career.

Each Monarch of Denmark, since 1448, has chosen a Royal Motto to emphasize their values or beliefs.

When King Frederik X was declared King, in 2024, he announced his motto:

"United, committed, for the Kingdom of Denmark"

Hey Earlybirds, It’s @gertrudedaly.bsky.social! I managed to pull myself out of bed and am making a pot of tea. 🫖

Writing sprints begin at :10. But I will be back before then with details.

I am going with a Denmark Royals theme, but tea comes from the charity Historical Royal Palaces in the UK.
